had an eye exam and they talked me into doing this instead of dilating my pupils for examination - the old fashioned way. someday i hope not have a time series of inner eyeball pictures with which i can assess my deteriorating vision. really looking forward to that.
been riding a bunch - mostly on the road. get this, i cleaned up my road bike and put a new chain and cassette and (gasp) h-bar cork on. like the first maintenance i've done to that thing in about 3 years. i even put a blasted computer on it so now i can flog myself by trying to keep my average speed up. why do i do such things? what makes me want to count numbers? i did hit 64.9 mph on the way down the backside of rist canyon the other day though, which makes me smirk a bit. with a helmet on of course. but tuesday i went 60 on the same descent without it. thats proof that helmets make you faster, right? or at least willing to take a bit more risk ... hmmm, interesting.
thinking about the fc50 coming up in a few weeks. i'd like to make the podium in ss this year. almost got there last time around. i have a storied history with that race (altitude sickness the first year, a tree fell on me the second year - i ain't lyin') and then a couple of solid finishes the last couple years. i can't believe i've lived in the horsetooth nebula for a little over 4 years now. wowie zowie.
laramie enduro is also on the horizon. i like that one too. some folks from lincoln should come out for it. you always have fun even if they do have rest stops ....
i hate to say it becaue i'll get shit for it if i don't show ... but some of you may see me in the next time zone over in a week or so. haven't been to the corn state since winter, wanna see my momma and grandpa, and there's a race going on up at swanson ... all of that might create an irresistable magnetic force that pulls me eastward for a couple days. no promises though.
this is a random shakespeare insult generator i've been having fun with lately.
later. sooner.

Dave,
I'm glad you've made it back to the blogging world. So you went DOWN the backside of Rist? That would be like getting shot out of a cannon and might even be scary.
