i was washing some dishes the other day and got to cleaning the press and percolator. been kind of going back and forth between them for the morning coffee ritual. anyway, i was putting stuff away and saw the drip cone sitting in a cupboard, then saw that little espresso maker sitting on the back of the stove, and then it dawned on me that i also had the infuser (great for ultra-light backpacking) in the utensil drawer. so that is no fewer than five methods i have at my disposal to make coffee. right there in my little kitchen. so much for living simply i guess.
anyway i thought that since my material has been pretty sporadic on this blog lately (most of my posts have been to good problem the last few months), i thought i would go out on a limb and try to do a series about the pros and cons of the various contraptions in my shameful array of coffee preparation devices. so heres the deal - i'm gonna use each of these for a week and then blog about it every friday for the next several weeks.
buckle up, its gonna be a wild ride.

You can never have enough.
pair down, lack of variety is the simplicity of life.
If you use them all, then keep 'em. It's stuff you don't use, you should get rid of for simplicity's sake.
I like how none of them require electricity.
coffee is your friend.
there is no shame in coffee drinking.
I always wondered how you maintained your personality. It all makes sense now.
