3 good rides this weekend. friday i did the "hardest 45 mile ride you could ever wish for" which is ft. collins ---> masonville ---> stove prairie ---> backside of rist canyon and home. it was only 98 degress so it wasn't too bad ... err wait. sunscreen and sweat in my eyes burns.
saturday was the same ride, but in reverse and with a tour of the bike paths tacked on to make it an even 60. and it was only 100 degrees when i got home, which was too hot for me and sue to hang around the apartment all day. so i packed up 3 cans of beer, the dog, a tennis ball (for the dog), and headed for the river. spent the rest of the afternoon alternating between a sunny spot on the bank and a submerged rock i found in the middle of the current that was shaped oh-so-right for me to plant my ass on. nothing like sipping a can of dales and soaking up some cold summer run-off. nothing.
yesterday i busted out a carter lake loop and tacked on a climb up to the "rattlesnake" open space and then back through loveland "the long way". in the end i had about 80 miles or something. it was 99 when i got home. too f'ing hot. so me and sue took the rest of the beer in the fridge, the still-soggy tennis ball, and went back to our spot on the river. day two of riding early, getting a good nap and meal in right afterwards, then sitting in the river sipping beer. colorado ain't all that bad, yo.

on the funny side, this is all i got for today. pretty funny though. maybe enough to stop right here.
